Romance Recommendations for February 6, 2018

Looking for something to read this week? I’ve got some new romances that might fit the bill.

OffLimitsOff Limits by Clare Connelly (contemporary, Harlequin Dare, February 2018): Off Limits by Clare Connelly is one of the first books in Harlequin’s new Dare Line which promised to be a super sexy line set in glamorous cities across the world. In Off Limits, billionaire businessman Jack Grant and his blue-blooded right-hand woman (and in house counsel) Lady Gemma Pictou finally give into a longstanding and long-denied attraction. The sex is intense and plentiful (the Dare line does live up to its super sexy promise) as is the emotion. Jack is a bit of the standard billionaire alpha douchebag hero who bangs anything that moves. He is a self-tortured soul, who lost his wife and tries to soothe his loneliness with as many women as possible. However, Gemma is different and Jack can’t move on after what was supposed to be a one-time encounter.

List of #1romancerec Books

I asked twitter peeps for their #1romancerec for books read in 2017 and got a great list of books. Breaking my own hashtag rules, I was fine (even excited) if people wanted to recommend more than one. Really, I just wanted to talk about great romance novels. So, here is that list in one place. Also, these aren’t all books. Some people recommended series and some just authors. I have put the books with multiple mentions at the top. Otherwise, there is no order.

Reviews for Books out Week of December 4, 2017

LoveOnTheTracksLove on the Tracks by Tamsen Parker (contemporary, Swerve, December 2017)

Love on the Tracks by Tamsen Parker is a contemporary romance, the first in the Snow and Ice Games series featuring a rock star hero and an athlete heroine (in luge) who fake a relationship for the media. But the feelings that these two have for each other are not in any way fake and what starts out as a stunt turns into the real deal. This is a fun, feel-good romance with a sexually-strong heroine who isn’t afraid to go after what she wants. One thing that stands out in this book is how Parker deals with the issue of sexual consent. These two actually talk before they get intimate and are explicit about their intentions to have sex together. Zane is very clear about needing permission - and Parker is able to make this point without it being pedantic or taking the reader out of the story.
