Series: Under the Skin, book three

Summary:
It was just a prank I didn't want to be a part of. I never meant to hurt anyone, least of all Johann Weir. You wouldn't know that he sells literature for a living. He has these wild eyes—eyes that light something up in me—and he must be twice as big as I am, with strong, warm hands. Hands I try not to imagine everywhere.

I have felt rather disconnected from historical romance of late. I do not read nearly as many historical romances as I once did, and I often don’t even notice - well until I read some great ones that remind me of what I am missing out on. Recently, I had this experience with two books: Tessa Dare’s Say Yes to the Marquess and Miranda Neville’s The Duke of Dark Desires. Both were wonderful stories with heart despite being very different.

Say Yes to the Marquess by Tessa Dare is the lighter of the two romances. Clio Whitmore has been engaged to local lord, Piers Brandon, the Marquess of Granville, for eight long years. Piers has been absent for quite some time, working as a diplomat abroad. Clio is tired of waiting, and Piers really isn’t the husband she wants anyway. Determined to take control over her own life, Clio marches into a seedy area of London to find the only man who can free her from her engagement, Lord Rafe Brandon, her brother in law to be.
