The meddling mother is a staple character in romance novels, and Alexandra Hawkins plays on this theme in her latest installment of the Lords of Vice series, “Sunrise with a Notorious Lord.” The Marchioness of Netherley wants her son, Christopher Courtland, Earl of Vanewright, to marry, and she isn’t afraid to pull out all the stops to ensure a successful campaign. These machinations give “Sunrise with a Notorious Lord” an entertaining twist that makes this romance one to remember.

Meet Alexandra Hawkins' Lords of Vice

alexandrahawkinsAuthorEarlier this year, newcomer Alexandra Hawkins, wowed us with her debut, “All Night with a Rogue,” with a dark, flawed hero named Alexius “Sin” Braverton.  He is one of the seven men known as the “Lords of Vice”, who have founded the notorious gentleman’s club called Nox.
On August 3, Hawkins released her second book in the series, “Till Dawn with the Devil,” which tells the story of Gabriel Addison Housely, the Earl of Rainecourt, best known best as “Reign”.  

Reign has a reputation to live up to.  He is a suspected killer and comes from a questionable family.  But as he takes Lady Sophia as a wife, his layers slowly peel away to prove otherwise.

Book Review - All Night With a Rogue

"All Night with a Rogue" (Historical, St. Martin's Paperbacks, 316 pages, $7.99), by Alexandra Hawkins: To escape an impudent ball escort, Lady Juliana Ivers, gown and all, becomes snagged in a hazel tree. If that's not troubling enough, she becomes an unwilling witness to a couple canoodling a few feet below.

Alexius "Sin" Braverton, the Marquess of Sinclair, notices the tree-bound Juliana and discreetly ends his rendezvous with a married lover to focus on the mysterious woman above. Although put off by his lascivious behavior, Juliana is nonetheless attracted by his virile charm. After helping her to get free, he asks for her name, but before he can learn her identity, she races inside to rejoin her family.

"All Night with a Rogue," the first installment of Alexandra Hawkins' Lords of Vice series, captivates from the first chapter.
