Review:
“The Earl in My Bed” is a historical novella introducing Sophie Jordan’s new series. In it, Paget is surprised and a little upset to learn that her childhood nemesis, Jamie, has returned home. As a young girl, Paget was very close to two neighboring boys – who happened to be children of an Earl. Jamie was the middle child who nobody really liked. He was quiet and worried about rules and responsibilities. But now that his older brother has died, Jamie has returned home to assume the Earldom leaving his younger brother still at war. Paget wishes that Owen had returned home rather than Jamie.
But Jamie has always loved Paget, always felt left out of her life and friendship with his brothers. Upon his return, he and Paget share a passionate kiss that shakes her foundation – as she has always believed that she would marry Owen. Although her feelings change, Paget – and Jamie – both worry about what their newfound love with mean for Owen.
“The Earl in My Bed” is a very romantic and angsty story that is a perfect read for Valentine’s Day. It is a great introduction to Sophie Jordan’s new series – and a very satisfying, happy and quick read.
