Q: Your Lucky Harbor books are phenomenal reads, some of Jennifer's favorite contemporaries. What do you think makes Lucky Harbor and Sunshine, Idaho such special and distinct places?
A: I really think it’s the people in those places more than the actual setting. Whether it’s a mountain or beach town, big or little city, it’s all about the heart and of the people who live there. 
Q: Are contemporaries your favorite genre to read as well as to write? If so, can you give our readers some of your favorite recommendations?
A: Yes, though I love to read everything, across all genres. Heck, I’m happy reading the back of a cereal box. But as for my recommendations in the contemporary genre, you can’t go wrong with Robyn Carr, Kristan Higgins, Carly Phillips, Susan Mallery, Lori Foster, Rachel Gibson…
Q: What is up next for Jill Shalvis?
A: More sexy contemporaries, never fear. I have lots and lots of hot alpha hero stories left to tell. For 2013, look for more in the Sunshine (Animal) series and more Lucky Harbors as well.
