RomBkLoveDay15SmallIt seems like the overwhelming number of sex scenes in romance are transcendental with simultaneous orgasms. I am all for that, but sometimes it is nice to read about things don’t quite go the way one might expect. So this is why today’s prompt for #RomBkLove (on Day 15) is all about awkward sex scenes. So, do any stand out to you? Any odd interruptions? Any weird things happen? Share them with us!

Eloisa James’ Once Upon a Tower has two virgin main characters and the sex is not good for the heroine. This is something the two have to overcome together. Eloisa James is no stranger to writing awkward sex for her characters.

In Elizabeth Hoyt’s To Seduce a Sinner, the hero does everything he can to make deflower his new wife on their wedding night. She is a virgin. He lubes himself up and does the deed without even taking off his clothes.

Cecilia Grant’s A Lady Awakened Martha needs Theo to make her pregnant so pass baby off as her late husband’s. She refuses to enjoy it. I remember these sex scenes as being very awkward and difficult to read. However, they were an important part of the story.
