Series: book 1 in Play It Again series

Summary:
The best presents are the ones you unwrap early...

Callie isn't sure just how kinky anyone can get on a Tuesday before Christmas, but she's willing to find out. That is, assuming this first drink at a pool hall with her ex, Gabe, and his girl, Kate, doesn't send anyone screaming from the bar. Newly divorced after years of sleep-walking through occasional sex, she's hoping to find her way back to the fiery confidence of her youth, when she saw what, or who, she wanted and grabbed it with both hands. It's a Callie she barely remembers and that Gabe is convinced is buried somewhere deep inside her still.

But when bystanders speculate about the trio, and Gabe and Kate make surprising demands that she be an active participant in this threesome, and not simply their plaything, Callie discovers that letting herself be sexually confident again is harder than she imagined. She'll need to bare both her body and her heart to find out if she can still reach fearlessly for adventure.

Review:
Callie, Unwrapped is an erotic short and is the first in a trilogy about Callie and her newfound relationship with her ex Gabe and Gabe’s current girlfriend Kate. Callie is newly divorced, unsure of herself and her sexuality and is looking for something. She hopes to find that something with Gabe and Kate - and goes to meet them planning to have a threesome. But it takes a bit for Callie to get her confidence back especially when she realizes that her emotions are involved.

Callie has always had deep feelings for her ex Gabe, but they had wanted different things out of life. Callie has always kept in touch with him though. So when she finds herself single again, she reconnects with Gabe. Their relationship had always been deeply passionate, and Gabe had always encouraged Callie to experiment. When the three of them meet, sparks fly. Callie is aroused by both Gabe and Kate even as she worries about her place between the two.

This story is highly erotic and deeply emotional. It is told from Callie’s point of view - and both Callie’s desires and her vulnerabilities come through loud and clear. Callie still has feelings for Gabe and it is hard to understand exactly why the two aren’t together. The sexual between the two is still fierce. But Callie also wants Kate - a feeling that is definitely mutual. The three share a steamy night in which Callie reconnects with her sexuality. But when she leaves the next morning, things aren’t entirely settled. Could there be more? Fortunately, there will be two more installments.

Callie, Unwrapped is an intensely emotional and highly erotic story. The sex is hot but not gratuitous as it is part of Callie’s journey and her character development. While Gabe is a bit of an enigma - his motivations are feelings are a complete mystery - Kate is a warm character, one who genuinely welcomes Callie into her bed. I’m so glad that Callie, Gave and Kate’s story will continue because I felt that there could be so much more in the future for these three.
