RomBkLoveDay17SmallI had to make a change to today’s (day 17) #RomBkLove prompt from hottest unfulfilled sexual tension (because I feel like we covered it already) to sexiest characters in romance. Which characters have stood out to you as the sexiest? Again the definition of sexiest is in the eye of the beholder.

So for my picks for this are characters that I love and exude sex to me.

RomBkLoveDay16SmallFor Day 16, the #RomBkLove prompt is all about sex positivity in romance. Have you read books which seemed sex positive to you? And by this, I mean that the characters were empowered by their sexuality. This is obviously a very difficult prompt to actually define, but the idea being that sex is not portrayed as shameful or dark or disturbed. Basically, this is the opposite of slut shaming. To read more on slut shaming in romance, check out this post over at Smart Bitches, Trashy Books. The companion article is one recommending some sex positive romances.

Maybe some examples will help too . . . . .

#RomBkLove Day 15 Most Awkward Sex Scenes

RomBkLoveDay15SmallIt seems like the overwhelming number of sex scenes in romance are transcendental with simultaneous orgasms. I am all for that, but sometimes it is nice to read about things don’t quite go the way one might expect. So this is why today’s prompt for #RomBkLove (on Day 15) is all about awkward sex scenes. So, do any stand out to you? Any odd interruptions? Any weird things happen? Share them with us!

Eloisa James’ Once Upon a Tower has two virgin main characters and the sex is not good for the heroine. This is something the two have to overcome together. Eloisa James is no stranger to writing awkward sex for her characters.

#RomBkLove Day 13 Best Kisses

RomBkLoveDay14SmallSo, the Day 14 prompt for #RomBkLove is Best Kiss. I admittedly have nothing to offer for this one. So, I guess I feel the need to expand this prompt to anything to do with kisses. Are there any kisses that you remember from a book? Feel free to be as liberal with this prompt as you’d like.

Because I don’t have any great kisses to share, I’m going to link some articles with some.

#RomBkLove Day 13 Favorite Kinky Books

RomBkLoveDay13SmallOn the 13th day of #RomBkLove, the prompt is favorite kinky book. As always, the definition of kinky is up to the reader; there are no hard and fast rules. Whatever works for you, qualifies.

Now for my favorite kinky books:

I always start with Lauren Gallagher’s Light Switch and its sequel Reconstructing Meredith. Not only do these books feature BDSM, they feature polyamorous couples. I highly recommend both of these.

I have many favorites . . . .

#RomBkLove Day 10 Hot Historicals

RomBkLoveDay11Small#RomBkLove Day 11 is all about hot and sexy historicals. Much like other day, you get to define what hot and sexy means to you. It doesn't matter if the book is not erotic but has some very sexy moments or even one. We want to know about all the historical romances that you think are hot!

Susan Johnson has so many hot historicals to chose from, Forbidden, Love Storm, Blaze and Sinful are just a few. Readers will find glass dildoes, sex on horses, inventive use of pearls and all sorts of sexy shenanigans.

RomBkLoveDay10SmallSo, today is the most frustrating cockblock or coitus interruptus in a romance novel. Have you ever read a romance where it seems like every time the main couple starts to have sex they get interrupted? Sadly, I don’t have any examples of this, so I am expanding this to stories with a long and slow burn before consummation.

White Hot by Ilona Andrews - Nevada isn’t sure what to make of Rogan when they first meet, especially since he kidnapped her. It takes much of the first book for Nevada to start to trust Rogan. She has no intention of jumping into bed with him.

RomBkLoveDay9SmallDay 9 of #RomBkLove is most unusual setting for sex in a romance novel. Have you read a sex scene that takes place in a strange place? Maybe there was an ill-timed sex scene in a romantic suspense novel? If a sex scene struck you as odd, I think it qualifies.

The wackiest location for me ever is the sex scene in Chloe Cox’s Tied to the Tycoon which takes place on a roof of a Manhattan building in the winter with the heroine hanging off the side of the building. I still ponder the logistics of this one.

And, of course, the sex on a horse in Johanna Lindsey’s Savage Thunder while the horse is galloping and the heroine is asleep. She wakes up during the act to find herself aroused and partially undressed. I’ve always felt rather badly for the poor horse (not that I didn’t read the scene over and over again).

I feel like I should have more to talk about for this prompt. I hope others do.
